Kloster Andechs [Andechs Monastery], also known as the 'Heilige Berg' [Holy Mountain], is the keeper of the 'Heiltumschatz' [Sacred Treasure], a collection of relics dating back to the crusades. But today, apart from its historic and religious importance, the Monastery Mountain is primarily famous for its brewery and restaurant. The beer brewing tradition at Andechs is as old as the monastery itself. The Benedictine monks who settled on the Holy Mountain in 1455 brought this wholesome expertise with them from Tegernsee and, today, it can be said without exaggeration that Andechs beer is renowned the world over. To this day the beer is brewed to the 'Reinheitsgebot' [purity law] of 1516 and all dishes are carefully and lovingly prepared to Bavarian monastery recipes. The Andechs Benedictine monks are convinced that eating and drinking keeps body and soul in one piece.

The restaurant seats 186 people (of which 20 seats are in the gallery) and 50 on the terrace. Group reservations can be made for the cross-vaulted room.

All rooms are ideal for celebrations and all kinds of events.
